Other issues important to a Minsk tourist: Belarus state holidays, Minsk internet cafes, Minsk weather, Belarus draniki recipe, Belarus travel safety, etc.Are private apartments a good staying option in Belarus?
Private apartments in Belarus can make a better staying option for a number of reasons.
Price and quality. A fully-appointed apartment with several rooms can compete in price and quality with a hotel room that only features standard furniture.
Important! While a hotel in Belarus can process your registration (a stamp on your migration card) upon check-in which takes a few minutes, the procedure with the apartment is different. Normally, you will have to be accompanied to the local Immigration and Citizenship Department (OGIM) by the apartment owner, where the registration will be processed. This involves a state fee of BYN 10.5 for the registration itself (for 26 October 2016) and might include a service fee payable to the apartment owner.
Check with the apartment owner if the registration is provided and its cost in advance.
