Tour all UNESCO sights of Belarus!

updated on 07/02/2020

If you are short of time and would like to check out all the four, adding a touch of village life to your stay, here's the plan:

0730 wake up at the Forest Inn farmstay, have a good coffee, perhaps a short village walk. Then take a short ride to the Mir Castle which is just behind the Neman River. Looking like the castle of Trakai, Lithuania, ours is actually in a better shape though the museum leaves much to be desired. Early morning arrival gives us certain priviliges: a mirror reflection of the castle in the lake and breakfast menu of the cellar restaurant. Walks and castle views make the beginning of our day.

0900 a short ride to Nesvizh or Niasvizh in Belarusian. The UNESCO sight number two is a more pretencious Palace and Park Complex. On the way to them we will pass the Church of the Divine Body. The church is unique for Belarus for its burial crypt of the Radziwill family and being one of the oldest functioning  Roman Catholic churches of the country. The palace museum makes a fine arts museum, a branch of the National Art Gallery.

1230 a lunch at a local cafe which serves wonderful budget dishes and the chef will observe your vegeterian or other preferences.

1330 we head for the Struve's Geodetic Arc - this 19th century survey tool was built to measure a meridian that stretches over 2800 km from Norway to the Black Sea. Belarus has a number of points and this one fits into our itinerary. A short stop for refreshments.

1430 a ride to the National Park Belovezhskaya Puscha. The forest offers a number of eco walks and enclosures with animals including the park's symbol - European bison (zurb). Zubr is the symbol animal of Belarus. The park is the oldest primieval forest in Europe, whose protection status dates back to as far as 1500s.

1700 a dinner at the local restaurant that will recharge our batteries before a journey back home. A few hours and we are back at the farmstay or, upon your request, in Minsk by your hotel.

TOUR PRICE: $390 including guiding, transportation services and a night at the farmstay. An extra night can be added for $30 with breakfast.
